ImageWageningen Graduate Schools organises the course: "Coping with Climate change in integrated Watershed Management" from June 30th - July 9th 2008.

ImageThis course will provide insight in the bio-physical and socio-economical problems that watershed managers encounter when dealing with climate change. With a focus on small to medium-sized watersheds; the major aim of this course is to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge needed to cope with climate change leading to an improved and integrated management of watersheds. Participants will work with the available tools for analysis of land and water resources and climate change impacts, and socio-economic, institutional and policy aspects of adaptive watershed management.

The course consists of a combination of lectures by (inter)nationally renowned speakers followed by elaborate discussion and practical work related to the lectures. Three day-excursions to locations in the Netherlands where state of the art watershed management under climate change is executed, will amplify the topics explained during the lectures and practices. Participants are expected to present their research during poster sessions held during the course, and to bring a laptop.

Target group: PhD candidates, Wageningen staff and interested non-Wageningen researchers.

Registration is open until the end of May 2008.
