Deakin University is a major research and teaching University in Australia with five campuses located in metropolitan Melbourne, and the regional cities of Geelong and Warrnambool. It has about 40,000 students studying in both on campus and “off campus” modes in one of the five faculties: Science and Technology, Business and Law, Arts, Education, and Health, Medicine, Nursing and Behavioural Science. It is winner of University of the Year award twice, once in 1996 and again 2000. Deakin is unique in its mission and is recognised as being the most progressive University in Australia, striving for strong partnerships with the rural and regional communities and industry.
